“Where The Light Breaks is not just an album -- it's a listening experience. This portfolio of songs invites the listener to reflect, remember, grieve, rejoice, and ultimately return to love.”

Where The Light Breaks

Debut Album

by New Artist Michael Ess

Released 8/11/2025 on 24 platforms!

Where The Light Breaks is a 17-track concept album that charts a passage from yearning and loss to confrontation, transformation, and unconditional love.

Featuring full-band progressive arrangements, rich harmonies, stripped-down guitar ballads, world instrumentation, and jazz-inspired blues instrumentals, the album is a genre-crossing odyssey. Themes of love, grief, societal fragmentation, spiritual reckoning, and personal healing unfold across shifting tempos and textures.

The title speaks to the idea that growth and grace emerge at the fracture points—where the light breaks through. Explore tracks here.
